Paintings from the Coffee Tree

 Hello!  A few readers have written recently talking about paintings they purchased at The Coffee Tree restaurant (now closed) in Vacaville, CA.  I have seen this one in slides previously.  According to my records, it is called called Forest Pond from 1992.  Very Nice.  Here are a few previous posts on Coffee Tree murals and menus.  Some of my previous links to Google Picasa are now 404's... sorry about that.

Nut Tree and Coffee Tree Menus

I have a couple of Nut Tree and Coffee Tree menus featuring Ruth Dicker's work. I think that some of them were used during specific shows, but I also seem to remember the Coffee Tree always having her menus. Here they are:

Left to right are a Nut Tree menu dated January, 1986, a Nut Tree menu dated Winter 1987, and a Coffee Tree menu dated August 1990. Note that the cover of the first menu is a close-up of a painting titled Snow Birch and was also available as a poster. The insides of the two Nut Tree menus have a series of black and white paintings that Ruth did. I have some photos of other paintings from that series of black and white paintings here, here, and here.

I will try to make some time to scan some of the inside pages as well, they are very nice. If there are other Ruth Dicker menus out there, let me know.

Coffee Tree paintings

I recently discovered a few paintings for sale at askart.com.

The paintings from 1987 actually hung in the dining room at the Coffee Tree Restaurant in Vacaville, CA.  The ones from 2000 were supposed to hang in a new Coffee Tree, but I am not sure they ever did.  One of Ruth's paintings also appeared on the cover of the Coffee Tree's menu.  I will try to add a picture of that menu.  Here is a picture of some of these paintings inside the Coffee Tree dated 8/22/88:
